Camel Trekking and Desert Tours
A camel trek in the Sahara desert is an unforgettable experience - trekking through the Sahara desert, all you can hear are the footsteps of the camel on the soft sand, the sky is vast and clear in the day and filled with millions of bright stars at night. The feeling of calm and peacefulness is indescribable - do not miss the chance to experience the amazement of the desert.
Overnight Camel Treks - approximately 90 - 120 minute sunset camel ride to the desert camp to sleep in a nomad tent. Wake early to see the sunrise and camel trek back over the dunes to the hotel for breakfast and a shower.
Sunset/Sunrise Camel Treks - a short camel ride with a accommodation in a hotel at the edge of the dunes. You can choose a short camel ride to see the sunset or sunrise over the dunes.
Erg Chebbi has the highest and most spectacular sand dunes in Morocco. These stunning dunes rise dramatically from the desert floor. They run in a line almost perfectly north/south to the village of Merzouga and beyond, and mark the western fringe of the Sahara Desert, dividing Morocco from Algeria.
It is a long way to the Erg Chebbi from the larger cities and to make the most of your travel we recommend a minimum of three days but preferably 4 days to visit Erg Chebbi. If you have the time, it is really worth exploring the desert region of Merzouga including the ‘black village’ of Khamlia and the ancient capital of Rissani.
