Casablanca > Rabat > Meknes > Fes > Merzouga > Erg Chebbi > Ourazazatte Marrakech > Essaioura > Casablanca

14 days/13 nights


Day 1: Casablanca

Welcome, assistance and transfer to hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, you can choose to relax in your hotel, bargain for handicrafts in the souk, visit the cafes and restaurants at your leisure or take a sightseeing tour of Ouarzazate.


Day 2: Casablanca > Rabat > Meknes

You will visit the capital of the Moroccan kingdom and take in the historic sites such as the Mausoleum of Mohammed V,, the Kasbah of the Oudaias, and Bab Chellah. We will then take you in the direction of Meknes where you will spend the night in this Imperial city. (BD)


Day 3: Meknes > Fez

We will visit Meknes including the tomb of Moulay Ismail, the place El Hedine, Bab Mansourand and the Roman ruins of VOLUBILIS. Here you can see the Roman town and explore the well preserved ruins of its houses and public places. There are mosaics and artistic features that are hidden amongst the stones of the old town. We will then take you to t Fes and overnight accommodation in a traditional riad. (BD)


Day 3: Fez

We will visit the UNESCO listed old town of Fes, its richness of architectural history drawing on its Arabic and Jewish heritage, its attractive Medina, the colourful souks and the leathery tannery that operates in the same way it has for hundreds of years. The colours (and even the smell) of the leather tannery is not something easily forgotten and this is the perfect chance to take a ‘postcard’ worthy snapshot of Morocco. There are lots of exotic leather items to look at and possibly to purchase.


Day 4. Fes > Ifrane > Erfoud > Merzouga

Departure in the morning from FES towards the alpine town of Ifrane. Ifrane is a town reminiscent of a Swiss village and it has a very European feel. It is also the home of a prestigious university and you may see its students driving around in Ferraris through the town. We will cross the High Atlas through the forests of Azrou which are the largest forests of cedars in the North Africa. Here there are many monkeys playing by the road and you can feed them and take close up pictures as they are not timid! After the mountainous path we will reach Midelt and then the depot town of Errachidia which marks the beginning of the green and luscious valley of the Ziz. We will follow the oasis until the town of Erfoud which is known for its date festival. From here you will attend the sunset at the top of the Borj Mountain which offers a splendid panorama of the town and its surrounds. We will then travel on off-road track towards the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Your hotel for the night is in the foothill of the dunes. (BD)


Day 5: Erg Chebbi > Merzouga

After breakfast we will make a large turn of the dunes in the four wheel drive while passing through the Oases of Merzouga, the village of Khamlia (village of the original slaves) the mines of Mifiss, the oasis of Tissardmine, and meet some of the Berber nomads of the desert. We will return to the hotel around 3pm, to prepare for departure on the camel into the desert to see the sunset on top of the dunes. We will spend the night in a bivouac, a traditional nomad tent in a remote oasis located two hours from hotel. After a traditional tagine dinner and delicious mint tea, we will spend the night watching the stars and the rising moon. (BD)


Day 6. Erg Chebbi > Taouz < Rissani

At sunrise the we will return to the auberge where we will have time to have breakfast and shower before departing on the track towards Taouz to discover prehistoric engravings. We will then bring you to the frontier town of Rissani to visit its famous ‘door’, the old royal palaces and the spice and handicrafts souk. We will enjoy the culinary speciality of the town - Saharan pizza pie – known as Madfouna. After lunch we will visit an exhibition of fossils found in the Sahara and then return to Erg Chebbi to spend the night.(BD)


Day 7:Erg Chebbi > Erfoud > Dades Gorge > Todra Goge

From Erg Chebbi we will head towards the town of Tinghir which sits in the middle of the largest palm tree plantation in Morocco. We will arrive at lunch time at the valley of Todra and you will be treated to lunch in the centre of mountain crevice. From here we will take you to the village of Boumalne and onwards towards Dades Gorge. We will spend the night in a hotel by the river. (BD)


Day 8: Dades Gorge– ‘Valley of the Roses’ - Ouarzazate

We will take the road of ‘the thousand Kasbahs’ and pass through the fragrant ‘valley of the roses’ and the mountain of Boutghrar until we reach Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco due to its many film studios and frequent use as an exotic film location. We will visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt and spend the night in a hotel in Ouarzazate. (BD)


Day 9: Ouarzazate > Ait Ben Haddou > Telouet > Marrakech

We will leave the town of Ouarzazate to visit the splendid Kasbah, Ait Ben Haddou, where films such ‘Laurence of Arabia’, ‘Gladiator’ and ‘The Mummy’ have been shot. We will travel the famous Tizi n' Tichka mountain road that was built by the French colonial forces in the 1920’s. In the mountains you will discover the Kasbah of Telouet and by the early afternoon we will arrive in Marrakech. The night will be spent in a charming traditional riad. (BD)


Day 10: Marrakech

After breakfast you will uncover what makes a million tourists every year choose Marrakech. We will begin with a visit to the palace and gardens of Menara and followed by a trip to the ancient minaret of Koutoubia then the tombs of Saadian and Yves Saint Laurent’s ‘Jardin Majorelle’. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon you can take a walking tour of souks of the old city. We will conclude the day with a drink on the terrace overlooking enthralling square of Djema el Fna which is known for its visual spectacle. (BD)


Day 11: Marrakech to Essaouira

Essaouira is a picturesque coastal city of white wash houses with vibrant blue doors. A walk around the Medina will offer many surprises – medieval battlements, old strategically places cannons along the beach front, craft markets, windswept jetties, street performers, fresh fish stalls, traditional Berber restaurants and souks full of gold and silver. Essaouira is also known as the place Jimi Hendrix adored and sought to make his home.(BD)


Day 12. Essaouira > El Jadida > Casablanca

We will leaveEssaouira towards Casablanca along the coast, past olive groves and through the farming centres of Morocco. The night will be spent in Casablanca. (B)


Day 13:. Casablanca

Airport transfer according to the time of your departure.
